Grooming Client Waiver

In consideration for my Pet being permitted to be a client at Sit. Stay. Splash, LLC (“Company”), I make the following representations and agree to all policies, procedures, terms, and conditions outlined below:

1. Health
I agree and represent that my Pet is in good health, has not injured or shown threatening behavior toward any persons or animals, and is up to date on Rabies and DHPP vaccinations.

2. Respiratory & Stress Risk
I understand that grooming can be physically and emotionally stimulating for pets and, in some cases, may cause stress, anxiety, overheating, breathing changes, or other medical complications. This risk may be higher in brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds including but not limited to French Bulldogs, English Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus, Boxers, and similar mixes, as well as senior pets, overweight pets, pets with heart or respiratory conditions, and pets with a history of anxiety or distress.

I agree to inform the Company if my Pet has any known breathing issues, heart conditions, history of respiratory distress, anxiety, or has experienced difficulty during grooming, handling, or veterinary visits in the past.

I understand that even with all reasonable precautions taken, pets may still experience stress or medical events. Company may recommend grooming services performed within a Veterinary Clinic if my Pet is highly stressed, excitable, or has known medical or respiratory concerns. Company reserves the right to stop, modify, or refuse services at any time if it is determined to be in the best interest and safety of the Pet.

3. Matting
I understand that this Company puts my Pet’s comfort above all else. In the event that my Pet’s coat is matted, I understand that the groomer may have to shave the mats out rather than perform a painful dematting procedure. I also understand that if my Pet is severely matted, there is an increased risk for clipper burn or cuts to occur. I understand that all attempts will be made to prevent this; however, in many extreme conditions, it is unavoidable.

I also understand that matted pets take additional time to groom and that an additional fee will be added to the regular grooming price if my Pet’s coat is matted.

4. Grooming Risks & Minor Injuries
I understand that grooming services involve the use of sharp instruments, clippers, scissors, nail trimmers, and grooming tools. While every precaution is taken to ensure my Pet’s safety and comfort, minor injuries such as nicks, cuts, clipper irritation, razor burn, quicked nails, or skin irritation may occur, especially on pets that are wiggly, elderly, matted, have thin skin, pre-existing skin conditions, or behavioral sensitivities.

I understand that some injuries may not be immediately visible due to coat length or underlying skin conditions and may appear after the grooming appointment. I agree that Sit. Stay. Splash, LLC and its staff will not be held liable for minor, unavoidable injuries that may occur despite reasonable care and proper handling.

In the event of a serious injury or medical concern, Company will notify the Owner and may seek veterinary attention as outlined in this agreement.

5. Emergencies
In the event of an emergency, I authorize this establishment to immediately seek professional veterinary attention for my Pet (at Owner’s expense). I understand that all reasonable attempts will be made to contact the Owner.

6. Owner Responsibility & Liability
I agree and accept responsibility and liability for acts or damages caused in relation to the behavior or incident of my Pet, including but not limited to injury or death to itself, any other animal, or persons, and any medical treatment expenses incurred as a result of such incident.

7. Right to Refuse Service
Company reserves the right to refuse services. In the event the Pet becomes stressed, aggressive, or dangerous, the Company may elect to stop, cancel, or refuse services at any time, before, during, or after use of the facility.

8. Muzzling
Company may muzzle your Pet if necessary. Muzzling does not harm your animal and is used to protect both the Pet and the staff of the facility.

9. Media Release
I grant the Company the right to use my Pet and its name in any form of advertising or marketing without compensation to me.

Limitation of Liability
The undersigned hereby agrees to save and hold harmless Sit. Stay. Splash, LLC, including its owners, operators, employees, and directors, from any damage, loss, or claims arising from the services provided by Company. In no event shall Company be liable for more than the cost of services provided and paid for by the Pet Owner.

By requesting and booking a drop-off appointment, I agree to hold harmless Sit. Stay. Splash, LLC, including its owners, operators, employees, and directors, from any damage, loss, or claims arising from the services provided by the Company. In no event shall the Company be liable for more than the cost of services rendered and paid for by the Pet Owner.
